Weight Loss Program

The Fit By Intent approach to weight loss is designed for you to succeed. 

There are so many reasons why the majority of us are overweight.  Unfortunately once we decide to make changes, the vast majority will fail.

I know the overwhelming feeling of dread when we decided to start a "diet and exercise program".   My program will give you the tools and support to make this transition possible.  I know these steps work, because I was able to lose over 110 pounds and have kept if off.

What To Expect

  • Establish goals.

  • Perform a Fitness Assessment.

  • Educate.  This is a major oversight in most weight loss attempts.  Keep repeating the same behaviors or don't understand the "why's" and change won't happen. You have to become savvy to spot the gimmicks.  When you break everything down, the changes and choices you make are quite simple. 

  • Shift your focus from losing weight to gaining health.  Why was I able to lose and keep the weight off?  I know that once you make better choices in exercise and diet, your weight will adjust.  My sole focus became what is healthy for my body when making decisions on exercise and eating.

  • Personal training sessions.   Build muscle and burn fat.

  • Nutritional guidance.   This is not a diet.  This is how to make better choices that fit in well with your life.  Everything we eat is classified as "diet".   But when we go on a "diet" we fail.  You have to make lifestyle adjustments.

Major Components of Program

EDUCATE AND SET-UP EXERCISE NUTRITIONAL GUIDANCE
Learn and understand the steps to succeed long term. Commit to 2 to 3 training sessions weekly. Perform pantry clean.
Education. Commit to working out in-between sessions. Shadow shopping trip.  Learn to make better choices when shopping.
Perform Fitness Assessment. Evaluate progress on a weekly basis. Maintain food diary.

This experience is rewarding and can be fun and exciting - trust me.  As my weight decreased and my energy increased, I was on top of the world.  I was eating five to six times a day and rarely felt hungry.   You must fuel your body to have the energy to move your body.  Once you move your body, you burn calories and build muscle.  I have to confess, I love to eat and that will never change.  You will learn that special supplements and pills sold over the counter are not the magic bullet.  My diet is comprised of products you purchase from any grocery store.  You will learn balance is key.  Eating multiple meals a day will keep your metabolism high and you won't feel hungry. 

Personal Training

My role as your personal trainer is to focus on YOU.  Burning calories, building muscle, improving flexibility and strength - safely and efficiently.  And to the ladies - let's clear something up right now - building muscle will not make you look like Arnold.   It is not possible.  Building muscle will create a toned and sculpted body.  

I teach my clients why cardio is important, and why moderation is the key.  

Get The Facts

A cumulative deficit of 3,500 calories or increase of 3,500 calories yield one pound.   The other variable is energy expenditure, i.e., exercise or moving our body.    The majority of weight loss plans all have a gimmick.    I believe it doesn't have to be confusing as to what we should eat.   Most healthy individuals should eat whole foods from all the food groups.  Healthy fats, complex carbs and protein.   Once you know the basics it is fairly simple.   We exercise smart and safely and focus on healthy nutrition.
